Bible, devotional - National Day of Prayer Task Force
The world of a military family changes when a service member is deployed. Families find themselves alone having to deal with fear, anger, and depression while the spouse they’ve counted on for love and support serves thousands of miles away. In order to help these families walk through these challenges, the National Day of Prayer Task Force has partnered with Biblica (formerly International Bible Society) to offer the Military Family Support Kit – which includes a special edition Finding Hope Beyond the Battle (NIV Bible) and a Psalm 91 “Warrior’s Prayer” devotional.
Finding Hope Beyond the Battle brings you stories of military spouses and the fear, anger, loneliness, and other challenges they have faced. This special edition NIV Bible, developed specifically for military families, points to our greater hope beyond all personal and political battles. Study notes will help you explore the unfolding drama of God’s story, summarized in five acts. It also has a dictionary/concordance included.
Psalm 91 has been called “the Warriors Prayer” and has been adopted by many of our military units as a source of strength and comfort as they serve. This devotional is a valuable resource that goes through the verses one by one, explaining the meaning of the words. Testimonies are also offered by troops and family members sharing stories of Godly protection they received as they leaned on His word.
If you are a soldier, family member of a soldier, or a military chaplain, these resources are made available by the generosity of friends and partners who support the ministry of the National Day of Prayer Task Force.
Bible, devotional - Operation Worship

Stephen's Touch

These congregations come from all 50 states in the U.S.A, 9 Canadian provinces and 21 other countries.
Stephen Ministers care for people who are suffering some difficulty or trauma in their lives. Stephen Ministers don't give advice and they don't proselytize. If the person receiving care wishes, the Stephen Minister may say a prayer during the session for them but that is totally optional.
The caring listening is being offered to spouses, parents, adult children and siblings of those who died or those who are dealing with separation due to military service. Please pass this information along to others who would benefit from the caring listener.

Computers for Heroes (Military Family Support)
Military Family Support is going to giveaway computers to help our American Heroes, their families and all families who support them! This is an important component of the Military Family Support plan to help millions of Americans.
Operation Homelink
Operation Homelink™ provides refurbished computers to the spouses or parents of junior enlisted (E1 –E5) U.S. deployed service men and women enabling email communication with their loved one deployed overseas. We offer this service on behalf of our donor corporations as a way to demonstrate their support of our brave men and women serving our country.
Operation Homelink is not able to accept individual requests for computers nor send single computers to individual families. Operational cost efficiencies enable us to maximize the families we can “connect” by only sending computers in bulk (usually 50+) to units that recently or will soon deploy. Because our donor corporations designate the recipient units or bases, (usually located near their headquarters), our program provides a simple, non-cash method to support their local military community.
To learn more, view Operation Homelink's Program Overview.

Operation Love Re-United
The last thing on your mind when your wife or husband arrives home after a 4 to 18 month tour, is capturing all this love– on film. Most people are so overwhelmed with emotions they forget to simply point and shoot the camera they are grasping of their child’s first hug, or that single tear of relief from a mother being able to hold her twenty year old son again. With the help of Operation: Love ReUnited and local photographers near your base, you can.
If you are a member or family member of the United States Military, and are interested in having very special and touching images with a patriotic edge taken of you and/or your family before a deployment or during, and at your reunion, please contact a photographer in your area now.
It’s all made possible by artists wanting to give something back to those who make the United States what it is, and ask for nothing in return- but to come home.
Picture a Hero
In recognition of their service and sacrifice, Picture A Hero will provide, at no cost, family and individual portraits to service people preparing to deploy.
Portraits of Love
We know that a family photograph means so much to a soldier, especially during the holiday season. That's why the Portraits of Love Project was born.
We've put together a network of photographers who have agreed to donate their time from October 5, 2011 through December 31, 2011 to take a free portrait of families whose loved ones will be serving overseas this holiday season. It's our way of saying thank you to the brave men and women who defend our country. You will also be able to receive a free copy of the portrait for yourself!
Project Portrait
When a family member is deployed, a photo can bring comfort to the deployed family member and the family left behind. Project Portrait provides free family portraits to those that have deployment orders which will last for a minimum of 180 days.
Project Portrait also provides new baby portraits free of charge to those mothers who deliver while the baby's father is deployed.
This is a partial list of what we are in need of to help get this project up and running:
- miscellaneous Canon camera lenses or other portrait equipment
- photographers willing to donate time
We are still in the very beginning stages and could use all the help we can get. Please, if you are interested in helping, contact Tawny Campbell.

Voice Library
One of the most challenging aspects to being a military service member is the necessity of having to spend time away from your loved ones. Not being able to reach out and hear a beloved voice when you are able to get to a phone is very difficult. Due to distance and time zones, you may not be able to call and talk with your family when you or they need it most.
With The Voice Library, you can call and leave a long message for your spouse, your children, your parents, and your close friends. Your loved ones at home can hear your voice, and will find comfort in knowing that you are safe. Plus, they can leave messages to boost your morale and to provide comfort when you are down or stressed. If your child loses his first tooth while you are away, he can leave you a message just after it happens! You can listen to your daughter reading her first story, or hear your teenager telling you about how she passed her driver’s test.

Directory of military family support organizations back to top
Blue Star Families
There are currently millions of active duty, Reserve and National Guard Service members serving our country. Each of them leaves behind a family when they deploy – a family that participates in the service members’ sacrifice but is often overlooked by government and civilian organizations. And because we in military service make up only one percent of the country’s total population, most Americans don’t have first-hand knowledge of the military experience.
Blue Star Families was formed in December of 2008 by a group of military spouses to raise the awareness of the challenges of military family life with our civilian communities and leaders. BSF has grown to include spouses and families from all services and all walks of life, including National Guard and Reserve, as well as veterans and civilians who strongly support us.
Military.com
Deployment, relocation, employment, healthcare/TriCare, adult education, childcare and youth programs, personal finance, K-12 education, branch support for families.
Military Families United
Military Families United is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to Honor the Fallen, Support Those Who Fight, and Serve Their Families. We are a national coalition of Gold Star and Blue Star families, veterans, and patriotic Americans who share a deep appreciation for our men and women in uniform and support them in their mission to keep America safe. Founded in 2005 to provide an avenue for military families to remind the nation of the importance of supporting our military and the mission they had been given to accomplish, we expanded to provide charitable programs that offer families direct support. Through a portfolio of unique services, events, and advocacy programs, we seek to ensure that future generations of Americans will never forget the sacrifices of our courageous military and that these men and women and their families receive the support they need.
Military Family Support
We serve families! Not only do the families of our Heroes get relocated away from their support network, they have the stress of wondering if their loved one is going to make it back alive. While the parents may have some choice about serving, the children generally don't. Reservists and Guard members must endure long and unscheduled periods of active duty, a situation which places uncalcuable stress on their families. Additionally, military families face a unique combination of financial and emotional needs that are worthy of our time, attention, and support. Obviously, the stress and worry of wondering if mom or dad will make it home alive is overwhelming. But add to this the fact that new recruits don't earn a lot of money, and it's clear that financial concerns are also present. And the workload of the now single-parent is increased as well when the other is deployed overseas.
Obviously there is a need to help these military families. Because we are so thankful for the service of our heroes, we want to help their families and show our appreciation. We hope that their awareness of Military Family Support's efforts to help their families will, in turn, help them feel better about serving our country and us.
Military Family Support Centers
The mission of the Military Family Support Centers, Inc. is to satisfy essential morale, welfare and recreational needs of military families of service men and women of the Armed Forces of the United States of America in times of mobilization, deployment in war, national security and disaster relief operations, as well as upon returning home of Wounded Warrior heroes or the deceased.
