A Prayer Journey Through Deployment
Author: Donna Mull, Copyright @ 2010
When a soldier serves, so does the family. Donna Mull saw that statement on the shirts some military wives were wearing at a Fourth of July parade as they marched with their husbands. Suddenly, that statement had become personal. She had heard stories about mothers whose faithful prayers had changed lives. When her son received his orders for deployment to Iraq, she wanted to be one of those mothers. Equally motivated by love and pain, Ms. Mull embarked on a year-long journey of prayer, writing weekly devotionals that focused on the specific needs of soldiers and their families. She then forwarded them to friends and family, who used them as springboards for their own prayer times. If you have a loved one in the military, chances are you are engaged in a battle of your own. Will your loved one survive? Will you? How will you cope while your soldier is away? When your soldier returns, will he or she be changed?

Prayers for our Nation's Defenders:
Scriptural Prayers to Strengthen and Encourage Our Troops

Author: Captain Anthony D. Gray, Copyright @ 2006
Does prayer really make a difference in war? The answer is a resounding "yes!" if you ask author Captain Anthony D. Gray who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the War on Terror. Captain Gray developed these scriptural prayers to protect and encourage his troops and himself in battle. While in Iraq, Captain Gray did not lose a single solider in battle and injuries were minor. Now these powerful prayers have been adapted for soldiers, commanders, and citizens to pray for our troops.
Prayers are divided into sections fitting for commanders, defenders, and the home team. Prayer topics include: - Wisdom for Commanders in Battle - Protection for Our Troops - Boldness in Battle - Confidence and Courage for Our Troops - Peace in the Midst of Chaos - Comfort for Family Members - Prayer books for war time are an important part of our nation's call to action. Even though the major operations in Iraq are over, our nation's involvement is in the news everyday. Ministries, churches, and patriots everywhere continue to see the need to cover our military in prayer, shown even more by the numerous "Support Our Troops" car magnets, yellow ribbons, and flags. - This little book is an important and timely tool for churches, ministries, small groups, and military units nationwide--great for church giveaways and small groups! - A small price and a compact size make this a great impulse item and perfect for patriotic celebrations and promotions!

Adopt a Terrorist for Prayer
The opposite of fear is not courage, but love. John says, “There is no fear in love; but love casts out fear” (1Jn 4:18). The goal of terrorism is fear, and it’s fear that restricts freedom of expression and conscience for virtually all Muslims, even the peaceful ones. This idea of loving terrorists by praying for them sets the stage for a pivotal contest between two spiritual realities. Jesus shows us the winning side. This ATFP movement offers a choice between two sides, the side of love or the side of fear. Probably there will be many spectators like on Mount Carmel in the days of Elijah. I’d encourage Christians everywhere not to sit this one out. Jesus wants followers not spectators.
Using this site, you can register a commitment to pray regularly and specifically for a terrorist of your choice. This site has a variety of features to help you do this, including:
- Search for a terrorist, viewing pictures and bios
- Register to pray for a terrorist and receive "adoption papers"
- Tool to invite friends to join you in a prayer family for a terrorist
- News feed and email notifications, to keep you up-to-date about recent events related to your adopted terrorist
- Articles, advice, an suggestions that you can use for inspiration

The Moms of Military Prayer and Support Group (MOMS), is a group of mothers and wives (open to ALL women related to anyone serving in the military) of loved ones currently serving in the United States military. We gather to pray and support our troops and military families around the country. We support each other with hugs and prayers and share our experiences and ideas: traveling to boot camp for graduation ceremonies, or making it through our loved ones deployments. Most importantly, we support our soldiers, marines and sailors with our prayers, love and friendship as they go about the difficult task of protecting this great land. Although we began in Orange County, CA, we offer prayer and support across the U.S. Many unique and supportive friendships with other MOMS have been possible across the state;, connecting MOMS together. We hope to reach out to every Military Mom and share the experiences that bind us with one heart for our loved ones.
The MOMS stand firmly on the Word of God and in the power of prayer. We lift up our loved ones in prayer daily for their protection and safety no matter where they are serving! Unlike most support groups, we are a prayer group first! We can offer prayer, emotional support and military information, and more importantly connect you with other Military MOMS either through a local Chapter or simply through emails.

Prayer support prayer bracelet - My Prayer Bracelet
Now more than ever before, our country is being called to prayer. To pray for God's protection and favor over the United States. To pray for our President and political leaders, both nationally and locally. To pray for one another. To pray for our military personnel and their families, both at home and abroad.
Our service men and women have chosen a vocation of protection for us on a daily basis. Their sacrifices for our continuing freedoms in the United States of America should be recognized and honored by all of us. We need to give them a small amount of our time throughout the day to pray for God's continued protection and favor as they are performing their sworn duties.
My Prayer Bracelet is a simple reminder of these truths. To pray daily for the military personnel who is engraved on your bracelet. To pray for God's protection and wisdom for them as they perform their sworn duty to protect our country

Prayer Cloths - Sending Troops Prayers Ministry
We make and send Prayer Cloths to the troops and others in need of Love, Prayers and Comfort. This group is a gathering of Christian women who create prayer cloths for our troops. We believe in one God and in the strength and comfort of prayer. The cloths are approx. 3" x 5" inches. Prayer Cloths can be crocheted, knitted, loomed, and/or quilted (or other needle crafting methods). We are trying to follow the tradition of Jesus and the apostles who gave themselves freely to those in need of prayer, comfort and healing.
Prayer Coin
One of our members had a burden to pray for those being deployed. To help him remember, he developed a coin to carry. These coins are available at a very reasonable cost to anyone who shares the burden to pray for the members of our military and would be helped by having something to carry as a reminder.
The coin also makes an excellent gift to members of the military to let them know that a prayer warrior back home has their back. Order one for yourself and one for your loved one. They will appreciate it and you'll be reminded each time you reach into your pocket or purse and feel that coin.
Prayer Crosses
The First United Methodist Church in Center, Texas is praying for and mailing Prayer Crosses to our service men and women serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

Steve makes the crosses and Lisa wraps them up with a special message rolled up inside the bottom of the cross, letting the soldier know he or she has been prayed for at First United Methodist Church in Center. They don’t know the soldiers, the Thomas’ just wanted to do something to let soldiers know they are remembered. There is no cost for the cross.
Rosaries - Ranger Rosary
